Gene expression

Differences and changes in gene expression are important measures to understand biological systems (read the applications article, Gene expression analysis, for more background). One of the most widely used methods of analyzing gene expression is quantitative PCR (qPCR) following cDNA synthesis. qPCR, also called real-time PCR, uses a fluorescent reporter molecule with a primer pair to measure target nucleic acid amplification during PCR cycling.

We offer a selection of qPCR products to assess gene expression. Order a ready-to-use solution with PrimeTime probe-based assays and master mix, or create a completely custom option from our probe catalog.

PrimeTime qPCR Probe Assays »

PrimeTime qPCR Probe Assays are 5′ nuclease assays that include a predesigned assay catalog for human, mouse, and rat sequences. Custom assays may be created for all species using the PrimerQuest Tool. Predesigned and custom assays can be provided in tubes or plates.

PrimeTime qPCR Primer Assays »

PrimeTime qPCR Primer Assays for use with intercalating dyes, such as SYBR® Green dyes*, include predesigned assays for human, mouse, or rat sequences. Custom assays may be created for all other species using the PrimerQuest Tool. Predesigned and custom assays can be provided in tubes or plates.

PrimeTime Gene Expression Master Mix »

PrimeTime Gene Expression Master Mix is a hot-start master mix delivering high quality results under either conventional or fast cycling conditions. Optimized for probe-based qPCR.

Custom qPCR probes »

Use custom probes to increase signal, decrease background, improve accuracy, or otherwise leverage the broad range of sequence design, dye, and purification options available.

Custom qPCR probes are made to your specifications and include several probe types, including PrimeTime double-quenched probes, Affinity Plus LNA Probes, and molecular beacon probes. Additionally, MGB Eclipse® Probes and other probe types are available as GMP-compliant reagents.
